Early Learning 2 (ELC2) at the International School of Berne celebrated Fasnacht last week with a parade in the playground for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) classes.

'Where we are in place and time' is the unit of inquiry that the class is investigating at the moment. The central idea is 'where we live changes from day to day,' and we have been learning about how we celebrate changes in the seasons.

ELC2 looks at how each different family within the class celebrates a change in the season throughout the year. For example, Fasnacht is celebrated in Switzerland, Belgium, and Germany and is a means of chasing away the Winter and welcoming the Spring.
