The International School of Berne (ISBerne) is proud to celebrate the achievements of our alumnus Dom Allen, who will represent Great Britain at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics.

At just 16 years old, Dom is the youngest athlete selected for the Paralympics TeamGB squad for the Games in Milano Cortina. He will compete in Para Alpine Skiing, racing in the Giant Slalom on 13 March and the Slalom on 15 March.

Dom’s journey to the Paralympic stage has been remarkably swift. After attending a ParalympicsGB Talent ID event, he joined the GB Para Alpine development squad in 2023 and has quickly progressed to the international stage. Reflecting on the opportunity, Dom has described his first Paralympic Games as an important experience and a chance to compete alongside the very best in the sport.

Dom began skiing as a young child in Scotland and continued to develop his passion for the sport while his family lived in Switzerland. The country’s strong skiing culture, combined with regular opportunities to ski, helped him build both confidence and skill on the slopes.

Dom was part of the ISBerne community from Grade 2 through Grade 8, before returning to Scotland in 2023. During his time at our school, he embraced opportunities to ski regularly, including ISBerne’s long-standing Ski Fridays programme, where students spend winter Fridays on the mountains.

His connection to the school runs through the family. Dom’s older siblings are also ISBerne graduates.

As he prepares for his Paralympic debut in Italy, Dom has said he is looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere of the Games, meeting athletes from around the world, and enjoying a few Italian meals in the athletes’ village along the way.

Dom’s determination and enthusiasm make him a wonderful role model for our students. The entire ISBerne community wishes him every success as he takes to the slopes in Milano Cortina.

We will be cheering him on every step of the way!
