International Award
As a proud participant in the esteemed Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Programme, the International School of Berne offers a unique opportunity for students over the age of 14 to develop essential skills, earn an international recognition, and participate in challenging and rewarding experiences.
This prestigious youth achievement award holds global recognition, equipping young minds with essential skills for personal and professional success. With a presence in over 130 countries and territories, this Award programme has inspired millions of remarkable teenagers worldwide.
Although the framework remains the same wherever it is delivered, no two Awards are alike. Rather than following a standardised process, students have the opportunity to tailor and craft their own personalised programme. In Grade 9, they dedicate six months to earn a Bronze Award, and in Grade 10, they extend their commitment to nine months in pursuit of a Silver Award. Throughout the programme, participants actively participate in service projects, develop essential skills, and embark on expeditions in the breathtaking Swiss Alps.

Ski and Skate Fridays
For more than thirty years, 'Ski and Skate Fridays' have been a special tradition at the International School of Berne. Over seven weeks during the Winter, students in all grades participate in skiing, snowboarding, or ice skating.
