Since 1961, Grades 6 – 10 at the International School of Berne (ISBerne) have been a vibrant, student-centered community. Following the International Baccalaureate® Middle Years Programme (MYP), our programme meets the unique needs of young adolescents as they develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and skills necessary to participate actively and responsibly in a changing world. 
 
Grades 6 - 10 mark a crucial stage in your child's development, where they build, reflect, and strengthen the attitudes, values, and dispositions that will shape their future. At ISBerne, we are committed to supporting them in developing the skills they require for their overall well-being and future success. Since most students seek more independence during these years, we create an environment that offers them more control over their experience, preparing them for the more complex life choices they will face.

We invite local and international families to experience firsthand the world-class International Baccalaureate (IB) education we offer students from ages 3 to 18 across our Early Learning Centre, Primary Years, Middle Years, Grade 10 Bridging Year, and Diploma Pathways. Parents, students, and community members are warmly welcome to attend our Open Day.

What to Expect:

  • Guided Campus Tour: In small groups, tour our purpose-built campus, visit our classrooms, observe IB lessons in action, and experience our vibrant learning environment firsthand.
  • Interactive Q&A: Ask questions along the way to learn more about our IB programs.
  • Meet Our Team: Speak individually with our Principals and Admissions team about your child's needs and aspirations.

Please note that the event will be conducted in English, and our German and French speaking staff will be available to assist.

Join us for one of ISBerne’s most anticipated annual traditions—International Day! This vibrant community event celebrates the many cultures that make up our school through food, music, performances, and fun for all ages. The day begins with a colourful Parade of Nations at 11:00, followed by an afternoon of international food stands, student entertainment, games, and hands-on activities for children.

You’ll also find a second-hand toy and book sale, and opportunities to meet members of our global school community. Throughout the event, guided campus tours will be available in English, Swiss German, and French for prospective families and local visitors. Pre-registration for tours is appreciated and helps us plan a more personal experience.
