Grade 10 Bridging Year

At the International School of Berne, we offer teenagers the option of joining our High School for a special Bridging Year (Brückenangebot / Passerelle). This unique opportunity is for students who have completed obligatory schooling in the Swiss education system to do, in essence, a “year abroad in English” without leaving Switzerland! At the end of obligatory education in Swiss schools, students may choose to continue into a tertiary level school or follow a transition option, including a bridging year of study at our school.

The International School of Berne (ISBerne) is a fully accreditedInternational Baccalaureate® (IB) World School providing education for 275 students aged 3 to 18 in Switzerland’s capital. Since 1961, our private, day school has had a long-standing reputation for innovative and highly qualified teachersworld-class facilitiesa diverse community, and excellent academic results.

A year at ISBerne will give students a broad education offered in English and, upon successful completion, students are eligible to transition into one of the Diploma Programmes, which give direct access to universities around the world, or they may continue their path into the Swiss tertiary education system.

As you explore our school online, we hope it draws you into the 'ISBerne experience'. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our community!
