Join Bern's leading English-speaking Preschool anytime during the year

As the oldest international school in the region, the International School of Berne (ISBerne) has long provided children with engaging and meaningful learning experiences that form the foundation for academic success. We offer a preschool and Kindergarten programme in our Early Learning Centre, which fosters in each child a love of learning and sense of self through an inquiry-based curriculum. We emphasise play and discovery both in- and outdoors, which sparks a sense of wonder and curiosity.

As an accredited International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School, our early learning programme develops the whole child.  The learning experience in our Early Learning Centre is focused upon providing a safe, nurturing environment in which your child can explore the early stages of the various literacies (reading, writing, mathematical) that will be key to all of their future learning. Our young learners acquire the skills necessary for thriving in Primary School, whether they continue here, in their home country, or abroad.

Our programme is enriched by visits to our Gym and Library, excursions to the nearby woods, playtime in their private playground, and attendance at and active participation in whole school activities and school productions.

Hear from the Kuttler Family:

"We are an American family and we started our journey at the International School of Berne in Fall 2021. From the start, our daughter, who is currently in ELC 1, was excited to go to school and see her teachers, classmates, and friends. Each day, she comes home and tells us about her day, what she learned, and any special activities they did. Hearing her excitement has made us realize we made the right decision in sending her to ISBerne.

As parents, we have already seen tremendous growth in our daughter - particularly, her sensory and motor skills, alphabet and letter sounds, and expressing her feelings. Her teachers have also done a fantastic job teaching her class about different nationalities focusing on each child's place of origin, which we feel this is important!

Overall, we are very happy with our daughter attending ISBerne and are so delighted with the path she is on with her learning. Thank you ISBerne!"
