Campus
Designed for Learning
The International School of Berne (ISBerne) is proud to call our purpose-built campus home. The architecture of our school reflects our view of community: students and faculty learn in common and connected spaces, with respect for both the community’s diversity and our shared rules and values.
South of the Siloah site in Gümligen, our new campus opened in 2017 brings all of the school's age groups together under one roof – from the Early Learning Centre through to the final year of High School. A double gymnasium with an adjacent soccer pitch and plentiful outdoor spaces supplement what our school has to offer.
Below you will get some impressions of what our campus is like, but the best way is to tour our school in person. Please pay us a visit and schedule your personal tour!

Our Campus Over the Years
Initially, when the International School of Berne (ISBerne) was founded in October 1961, we opened in a house on Thunstrasse in Bern. By 1965, the enrolment had reached 52 students, and it was too much for the little house to hold. So, land was found in Gümligen, and the first buildings of a new campus were built.
Over the years, ISBerne continued to grow alongside the growth of the Canton of Berne. First, the school acquired new buildings to hold the expansion but eventually, as enrollment surpassed 200 students, the school grew too large for its existing site, and plans were made for a new campus.
After careful planning and considerable investment, ISBerne, our investors, and governmental supporters broke ground for the new campus on August 21, 2015. ISBerne moved to our new campus in April 2017. The new campus is at Allmendingenweg 9 in 3073 Gümligen. We are not far from our old location- just two tram stops away!
