Tuition and School Fees

Founded in 1961, ISBerne is an English-speaking international day school near Bern, Switzerland, welcoming both local and international families. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we offer internationally recognised IB programmes as well as English–German pathways aligned with the Swiss national curriculum, Lehrplan 21.
Tuition fees vary depending on your child’s age, grade level, programme, and level of attendance. Our Welcome Team is happy to provide personalised tuition guidance for your family.

What Tuition Supports
Tuition at ISBerne supports a broad educational experience both inside and outside the classroom.
This includes:
- Outdoor Education Week
- Ski and Skate Fridays Programme
- swimming programme
- curriculum-related trips and excursions
- specialist subject teachers
- school materials and learning resources
- co-curricular activities and school events
- learning support
- student wellbeing services
During the 2026–27 school year, Before School Care starting at 7:30 am will be included in tuition fees as part of a year-long pilot programme. Before School Care is available for children in the Early Learning Centre through Grade 2.
Some optional services, activities, meals, transportation, and specialised support programmes may involve additional fees.

Tuition Payment Options
We understand that every family's circumstances are different. To help families plan for the school year, ISBerne offers several tuition payment options, including early payment discounts and the possibility of paying tuition in two instalments.

Scholarships and Financial Assistance
Families wishing to attend our school may apply for financial aid to the International School of Berne Foundation. They provide scholarship funding for students attending ISBerne, other private schools in Switzerland, and post-secondary institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s academic potential and the family’s financial situation. Financial assistance covers part of the tuition fees charged by the selected institution.
