Experience a Trial Day at ISBerne
Choosing the right school is an important decision. A Trial Day (sometimes called a Student Shadow Day) gives your child the opportunity to experience everyday life at the International School of Berne (ISBerne) before deciding whether ISBerne is the right fit for your family.
Whether your family is exploring schools for the first time or considering a transfer, a Trial Day allows your child to meet teachers and classmates, participate in lessons, and discover what it feels like to be part of our welcoming school community.
Every Trial Day is individually planned based on your child's age, interests, and school programme. Trial Days are available throughout the school year, whenever school is in session, and are offered free of charge with no obligation.
What to Expect
- A warm welcome from our Welcome Team and Divisional Principal
- A personalised schedule based on your child's age and interests
- Time with a student buddy
- Participation in classes and school activities
- A complimentary lunch in our school cafeteria
What Happens During a Trial Day?
No two Trial Days are exactly the same because every child is different. We tailor each visit to your child's age, interests, and educational background to provide an authentic experience of life at ISBerne.
When your child arrives, they will be welcomed by our Welcome Team and introduced to their Divisional Principal, who will accompany them to their classroom and introduce them to their teacher and classmates.
Throughout the day, your child will:
- Join lessons with students of the same age
- Spend time with a student buddy
- Participate in classroom learning and activities
- Experience a typical school day
- Enjoy a complimentary lunch from our cafeteria with their class
- Discover our welcoming school community
While Your Child Is in Class
While your child is enjoying their Trial Day, parents are invited to learn more about ISBerne.
Depending on your previous visits and your family's needs, you may:
- Meet with your Divisional Principal
- Tour our campus
- Learn more about our programmes
- Discuss your child's educational needs
- Ask questions about admissions and next steps
Our goal is to ensure both parents and children leave with a clear understanding of whether ISBerne is the right fit for their family. Our aim is to ensure that both parents and children leave feeling informed, confident, and excited about the possibility of joining ISBerne.
