Interdisciplinary days are an exciting event at ISBerne… merging areas of learning, teachers take students on selected outings and activities to deepen their understanding of what they have learned in various subjects.
Our Grade 8 students had a rare and amazing opportunity to experience firsthand the concepts and understanding they obtained earlier this year in their Earth Science Units.
We went to the Sardona Tectonic Arena UNESCO World Heritage Site to witness up-close the plate tectonic action that formed the Swiss Alps and more specifically the Glarus Overthrust.
This was a fun opportunity to get out of the classroom and explore the Swiss Alps!
It was an overnight trip to the Sardona region of Switzerland in the canton of Glarus where we stayed in a rustic lodge.
