WHO WE ARE AND WHO WE SERVE

The International School of Berne is proud to serve a globally diverse community in Switzerland…

Over 50 Years of Service to the Expat and Local Community

Our reputable day school located in Switzerland’s capital city has served global expat and diplomatic families for more than 50 years. An IB World School, ISBerne offers all three prestigious International Baccalaureate Programmes. ISBerne also offers an online education option, and a study abroad program, both of which allow families from around the world access to Switzerland’s renowned international day school.

Founded in 1961, the International School of Berne is a coeducational day school offering an education in English to meet the needs of the international community in Berne. ISBerne is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and is authorised to teach all the programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB). It is located in Gümligen, a suburb of Berne, Switzerland’s capital city.

The ISBerne campus includes a gymnasium, three computer labs, two art rooms, a theatre arts rehearsal area, and two music rooms. Local facilities are used extensively for sports training and events, theatre and music productions. In 2015, the ISBerne campus will move to a new purpose-built campus, also in Gümligen.

The school also serves as a test centre for IB, PSAT, SSAT and the SAT.
