Parent Teacher Conferences – Elementary
A friendly reminder that on Friday 8 November 2013, we are inviting you to participate in Parent/Teacher conferences.
What is the parent teacher conference?
The goal of this meeting is to give parents information about their child’s progress, development and future needs in all subject areas taught in the classroom. It is also an opportunity for parents to meet with single-subject teachers where requested. This is an important event in our school calendar and involves only parents and teachers. During the session, teachers will share their data and evidence of your child’ learning, including information about the MAP assessments carried out in earlier in the year , where applicable.
How do I know when my conference is?
This week your child’s teacher will send the time that you been allocated for the conference. The allocated time for each appointment is 20 minutes so it is important that you arrive punctually. We are mindful that some parents may not be able to make it to the time allocated, in which case, parents should contact their child’s homeroom teacher to arrange another time or day, if necessary. If you have not received an appointment time, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Tuesday 5 November.
Supervision for students on the day
ELC and Elementary students will not be a part of this meeting, it is a student free day. Parents are welcome to take their child(ren) to the Elementary library where fully supervised care will be available for the duration of your Parent/Teacher conference.
