“There was a princess long ago, long ago, long ago”…. With this chant we began our journey into a magical kingdom and into the land of enchantment. With lots and lots of paper and with lots and lots of glue we constructed the walls of a castle, added a special bed for the princess and a throne where the king and queen could sit when they are not running around the castle taking care of things. We added costumes and crowns of every shape and size, capes and shields and swords and finally we added magic wands and with a whole bunch of imagination “presto” we had a magic kingdom where we could explore, investigate and through play, nurture the seeds of imagination. We held a party at the palace and everyone came dressed in their royal costumes and what a beautiful sight indeed… dresses of every shape and colour and each one so beautiful. The princes too looked so gallant and handsome. We ate and we drank and we danced and we sang. We explored wonder and magic and fantasy. We fought dragons and knights and in the end the prince and the princess did live happily ever after.
