The PTC is having a busy and exciting year in 2011-12 and we are very grateful to all our enthusiastic volunteers who continue to support our events in so many ways. Our upcoming events are listed on the main PTC page. Through our fundraising efforts we have been able to purchase a number of new items for the school from the Staff Wish Lists including:
- A collection of classic films on DVD for the secondary library
- Playground equipment for the elementary school
- A new beamer for the Art department
- A portable music system with ipods for dance and movement activities in P.E.
- An online starter course in grammar and writing for the English department
- Startup funding for the ISBerne Sports Committee
- Funding for upcoming playground line painting to be organised by ISBerne in the spring

ISBerne Talent Show

What a fantastic evening! The PTC was delighted to support this event organized by the Secondary Student Council and we were treated to many varied and entertaining acts by ISBerne Students. Congratulations to all the performers who took part in the show, especially to Anna, the overall winner and the other award winners, Taylor, Radu, Ashley and Deepanshu. Thank you to all the volunteers, students, teachers, parents and staff who contributed to make the evening a big success.
Elementary School Working Parents Day

The PTC Elementary Activities Committee organized an afternoon for working parents at the Elementary School giving those who might not normally have the opportunity to visit the chance to see what goes on. The children were delighted to welcome the parents and show them around. The afternoon included a special performance by the choir.
Last Ski Day Celebration

The Last Ski Day gave us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the end of the ski season at ISBerne. The weather was fabulous and many students, teachers and parents were in costume. Everyone did a great job in the races and we were treated to an exhibition of our most talented skiers and snowboarders at the end of the day. Nearly 40 parents enjoyed the lunch at middle station and we gave special recognition to the participants of the adult beginner ski program. We are looking forward to the next ski season already – see you there!
PTC Bake Sale

The PTC’s Bake Sale was a big hit with students and staff at morning break. Thank you to everyone who baked and helped with the sale. The proceeds will be used to fund our upcoming Elementary School events for Mums and Dads
Staff Appreciation Luncheon

A big thank you to all the volunteers and cooks who helped make our Staff Appreciation Luncheon a wonderful event. The tables were laden with many delicious dishes from around the world illustrating the truly global nature of our school and our cheerful band of volunteers helped with playground duty, setup, serving and clean up. It was a great opportunity for us to thank everyone on the staff for their hard work and dedication in making ISBerne such a great place to be!
Brit/Berne Disco

Students from ISBerne Grades 2-6 and the British School had lots of fun, dancing and games at the Third Annual Brit/Berne Disco organized by the PTC and held in the ISBerne drama room. Parents also enjoyed the opportunity to relax and socialise with drinks and snacks in the welcome lounge in building C. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the BM Twins School in Ethiopia. Many thanks to all the parents, staff and students at ISBerne and the British School who helped make this event happen, especially to our wonderful DJ, Mr. Jackson, who played a great selection of music. The disco has become a firm favourite on our calendar and we are looking forward to the fourth annual disco next year!
Welcome Coffee Morning

The PTC hosted a Coffee Morning to welcome new parents to the ISBerne community on the first day back of the new year. We were delighted to meet our newcomers and to chat with old friends returning after the Winter Break. We are looking forward to more fun activities in the coming months such as Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Last Ski Day Celebration, Quiz Night and International Day. We hope to see you there!
St. Niklaus Visit

St. Niklaus visited ISBerne on Tuesday 6 December in keeping with the traditions of our host country. He brought small gifts of chocolate, lebkuchen and clementine oranges, much to the delight of our students!
Thank you to Nestle for their generous donation of chocolates and to all the parents who donated bags of clementines.
To St. Niklaus - thank you for taking the time to stop by ISBerne, it was a very special day for us.
Bingo and Pizza Night

A fun time was had by all at our Bingo and Pizza Night on Thursday 10 November. There were great prizes for players of all ages and plenty of opportunity to win with lots of games. Thank you to our callers (Ms. Simon, Mr. Jackson and Mr. Bechtel) who did a fabulous job keeping the bingo going all evening and to our generous volunteers and bakers who helped make the event a big success.

Students of all ages enjoyed delicious ice cream sundaes as a lunch time treat at the PTC Ice Cream Social organized by our Elementary Activities committee (chaired by Maggie Torres).
All the Elementary students involved in the preparations; they did a wonderful job and the lunch room looked great decorated with their artwork.

Welcome BBQ

Our Welcome BBQ was the perfect way to finish up the first week of school! Parents, students, staff members and their families gathered to enjoy tasty food and good conversation. It was a great opportunity to catch up with friends after the summer holidays and meet our new ISBerne families. Luckily the rain held off and our students were able to enjoy a few games of football and basketball to round off the evening.

On the first full day of school the PTC hosted a coffee morning to welcome all parents to ISBerne. We were delighted to greet so many new parents and to welcome back old friends. Judging by the friendly atmosphere, everyone got off to a good start. Thank you to all those who filled out a volunteer form, we really appreciate your help and look forward to your involvement. We have many exciting events planned and it looks like we are in for a lively year at ISBerne!
