Last Ski Day Celebration and Lunch

Friday 16 March
The last ski day is always popular with parents and students as we celebrate the end of the ISBerne ski program for another year. Save the date and plan to watch or participate in the ISBerne downhill ski races, then join us for lunch on the mountain. To add to the fun, we have declared it a day for “Crazy Outfits”… who knows who you might see on the slopes?

Secondary Art Room Volunteer Group

This is a new group. Volunteers will assist Mr Tom with Art Room tasks.

Secondary Library Volunteer Group

Volunteers extend the opening hours of the secondary library until 5pm (4pm on Wednesdays). The goal is to help students have a quiet space for studying, searching for and checking out library materials, and peer tutoring, provided it does not disturb other patrons.  Students are asked to sign in. Volunteers may, if they wish, help with library material processing and repairs, our librarian,  Jill Van Niekerk, will train anyone who is interested.  It is also fine to read or help students! This group started in October 2011 and is chaired by Sharon Bowers.

Elementary Library Volunteer Group

The elementary library looks better than ever thanks to our librarian,  Jill Van Niekerk and the Elementary Library Volunteer Group. This group, formed in April 2010 and chaired by Karen Hanneson, staffs the elementary library desk before and after school. Library volunteers check books in and out, reshelf reading materials,  and do light book repair. They have also proposed some great ideas to improve our library and get students involved, such as running a 'Bring Back the Books' competition to retrieve overdue books. The time commitment for volunteers can be as little as two sessions (1/2 an hour each) per month, after an initial morning of training with the school librarian.
